This is truly one of the most delicious breakfasts I have eaten is a long time! I had it for the first time the other morning and I was just in breakfast heaven! The combination of chocolate and orange is one of those perfect matches. It’s great any time of year but seems especially fitting as christmas is fast approaching! For me the wonderful thing about this breakfast is how comforting it is at the same time as being awakening. It’s really creamy and filling and the addition of the orange brings a quality of freshness and zest to a very comforting dish. The juiciness of the orange goes so well with the creaminess and the chocolate. I hope you love it as much as I do!

Ingredients
  1. 4 tbsp oats
  2. 2 tbsp chia seeds
  3. 1/2 cup almond milk
  4. 2-3 tbsp coconut yoghurt (optional – but adds extra creaminess)
  5. 1/4 vanilla bean, sliced lengthways to open out seeds
  6. 1 orange
  7. 1.5 tbsp cocoa nibs
  8. 2 tsp cocoa powder
  9. 1/2 tsp maca powder (optional)
  10. drizzle of raw honey or maple syrup
  11. 1 tsp coconut butter
Instructions
  1. place the chia seeds, oats, almond milk and vanilla bean in a bowl in the fridge and leave overnight
  2. in the morning take out the vanilla bean, stir in the maca and add the sliced orange pieces and cocoa nibs.
  3. add the coconut butter in sprinkles (easy to do when it is hard at room temperature), sprinkle over the cocoa powder and then drizzle over the honey/maple syrup
